Spring has Sprung

After what seemed like an especially long winter, spring has finally full sprung at Goodwin Ranch, and we could not be more pleased about it.

Even Mountain Man has been smiling more since he can wear shorts and flip flops.

To celebrate mother nature taking mercy on us, we hosted a BBQ this weekend to watch a local raft race--people in the community build rafts and have to float just under 2 miles down the river.  There are fun costumes and really creative raft ideas.  We moved the grill right over to the river for optimum spectating.

The weather was perfect, and I was in high heaven being able to wear sandals again and sit outside in the sun with friends.

Even Mr. Texas himself joined us!

Sunday was recovery day.  My 11 mile run turned into a 6 mile run, and then I came home and promptly fell asleep outside for a solid hour.  It was just what the doctor ordered.

It is so nice having the doors and windows open again so we can hear the river trickling by, hear the birds chirping, smell the scents of BBQ wafting over, and other spring smells like dirt and grass and rain.  I love seeing the sun set over our little piece of river every night, dusk getting later and later each night.

I love spring.

Happy Monday' y'all.
